Janet investigates how
things heat up. She gets two metal blocks, one made of copper and one made of
aluminium. She weighs both blocks and they have exactly the same weight. She uses two thermometers and a stopwatch.
Using two identical electric heaters
and using the same amount of electricity
she heats up both the copper and aluminium blocks.
She finds that the temperature of the copper block rises
faster than the temperature of the aluminium block. After 10 minutes she
finds that the temperature of the copper block is 200 degrees Celsius and the
temperature of the aluminium block is only 100 degrees Celsius.
